Abstract

Abstract: Objective To study the correlation of serum insulin and insulin resistance with endometrial cancer. Methods 97 cases of patients with endometrial cancer treatment as the observation group and 98 healthy women as control group were selected for this study. The fasting plasma glucose and pancreatic hormone levels in all subjects were detected and the insulin resistance index were calculated. Results The fasting insulin and HOMA-IR levels in patients were significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference on fasting blood glucose between two groups (P>0.05). There was no significant correlation between the FIN and HOMA-IR levels with histological grade, FIGO stage, myometrial invasion depth, estrogen receptor and progesterone receptors (P>0.05). Conclusion The occurrence and development of endometrial cancer is a complex process. The serum level of insulin cannot directly reflect the development of endometrial cancer, but may be the cause of independent risk factors for endometrial cancer. It may be one of the mechanisms of endometrial cancer and need to be further studied.
