Abstract

Abstract: Recent epidemiological survey showed that Staphylococcus epidermidis has become an important hospital-acquired infections pathogen, which plants mainly in the surface of the body indwelling medical devices to form pathogenic biofilm. As the major causative factor in Staphylococcus epidermidis infection, the biofilm can hinder the penetration of antibiotics, enhance bacterial resistance, and strengthen the host immune system against host immune system effect, which leading to persistent chronic infection. The depth study of pathogenic factors of Staphylococcus epidermidis biofilm can help provide some theoretical basis for controlling S. epidermidis infections.
