Abstract

Abstract: Objective To evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of Norovirus GI and GII antigen fluorescent nanoparticles rapid combined detection test strip. Methods The samples including cultured rotavirus and 245 specimens of patients with symptoms of gastrointestinal infection were collected. The fluorescent nanoparticles rapid combined detection test strip and colored microspheres rapid detection test strips were used to detect the same samples and the performance of two detection methods were analyzed. Results The sensitivity of fluorescent nanoparticles rapid combined detection test strip was significantly higher than colored microspheres rapid test strip and no specific reaction with rotavirus (Wa strain), adenovirus (type 40), coxsachievirus (type A16), ECHO virus (type 30) and enterovirus (type 71). Conclusion The sensitivity and specificity of fluorescent nanoparticles rapid combined detection test strips are significantly higher than colored microspheres rapid detection test strip, and suitable for clinical application.
