Abstract

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical significance of serum homocysteine (Hcy), adiponectin (APN) and B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) in patients with chronic nephritis. Methods The serum levels of Hcy, APN and BNP in 31 patients with chronic nephritis and 30 health controls were measured by immune method and CLIA. Results The serum Hcy, BNP levels in patients with chronic nephritis were significantly higher than those in controls, but the serum APN level was lower than those in controls (P<0.01). The serum Hcy levels were positively correlated with serum BNP (r=0.6018, P<0.01) and negatively correlated with APN levels (r=-0.5802, P<0.01). Conclusion The combined detection of serum Hcy, APN and BNP levels changes might have clinical values in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with chronic nephritis.
