Abstract

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical application value of alone and combined detection of Homocysteine (Hcy) and Lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)] in the diagnosis of intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH). Methods 145 ICH patients and 150 healthy controls were involved in this study. The serum Hcy were detected by an enzymatic cycling assay and serum Lp(a) were measured by latex enhanced immuno-turbidimetric assay. The sensitivity of each parameter in single and combining detection were evaluated. Results The serum Hcy levels in ICH group was 18.03 (13.41~25.63) µmol/L, and the control group was 11.25(9.06~13.42) µmol/L. There were statistical differences between two groups (U=9.76,P<0.01).The concentration of Lp(a) in ICH group was 238.00 (120.50~411.00) mg/L, and the control group was 153.00 (103.50~225.50) mg/L. There were statistical differences between two groups (U=5.24,P<0.01). The positive rate of Hcy and Lp(a) detected alone in ICH group were 51.7% and 40.7% respectively. The positive rate of ICH in combined detection of Hcy and Lp(a) was much higher than that of Hcy or Lp(a) alone detection (P<0.01. Conclusion The combined detection of Hcy and Lp(a) could improve the sensitivity of diagnosis of ICH.
