Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression of serum transthyretin (TTR) in colorectal cancer patients with distant metastasis (live& stomach metastasis), so as to find different expression of transthyretin between two groups, to explore expression of transthyretin and its relevance to metastasis of colorectal cancer. Methods The serum of colorectal cancer patients including occur metastasis 12 cases and patients with metastasis 11 cases were collected and stored in -80℃ until use. Expression of serum TTR was semi-quantitative identified by using western blotting method. Software Image J analyzed the strip light density. Results The expression of serum TTR in colorectal cancer patients with metastasis was lower than patients without metastasis (P=0.017). Conclusion The correlation between serum TTR and metastasis of colorectal cancer could provide clinical aid to identify the tumor aggression and migration, therefore, the TTR could be used as a tumor maker in evaluation of invasion and metastasis of colorectal cancer.
