Objective To statistic analysis the characteristic of TORCH infections in recent 3 years in Xiangtan to provide scientific basis for preventing TORCH infections in this region. Methods The serum levels of IgM and IgG in 9097 cases of pregnant women in Xiangtan between the year of 2009 and 2011 were detected by ELISA. The TORCH infections and its difference in each year were analyzed. Results The positive rate of TOX-IgM, RV-IgM and CMV-IgM has been descending since 2009, while the positive rate of HSV-IgM has been ascending. There was a significantly difference in HSVⅡ-IgM between the year 2009 and 2011 (P<0.05). The positive rate of TOX-IgG has been descending in these years. The positive rate of RV-IgG and HSVⅡ-IgG has been ascending and the CMV-IgG with highest positive rate. Except the TOX-IgG between the year 2009 and 2011, the others showed significantly difference (P<0.01). Conclusion The routine examination of TORCH is essential for pregnant women. It could detect intrauterine infection to intervene adverse pregnancy as soon as possible, and to prevent TORCH infection.
