Abstract

Objective To explore the transfusion-transmitted hepatitis viruses (HBV and HCV) infection of volunteer blood donations in Beijing area. Methods 165566 plasma samples from volunteer blood donors in our hospital since January 2005 to December 2012 were collected. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used for detecting HBsAg and anti-HCV in serums and the results were analyzed by SPSS software. Results There 1936 blood donors were transfusion-transmitted hepatitis viruses infected in 165566 and the total infected rate was 1.17%. Among them, the infection rate of HBV, HCV, and mixed infection was 0.71%, 0.46% and 0.006%, respectively. The ratio of males to females in infected blood donors was 7.9:1. The infected rate of in age 35 to 45 group was the highest (1.42%). Conclusion The incidence of transfusion-transmitted hepatitis viruses infection has a increase trend and would enhance regulation in transfusion-transmission to ensure the safety of blood transfusion.
