Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical values of AKT-1 in assessment of prognosis and treatment of breast carcinoma. Methods The expression of AKT-1 in 20 cases of peritumoral tissue ,20 cases of breast fibroadenoma and 61 cases of breast cancer were detected by immumohistochemical technique S-P. All the data were analyzed by using SPSS 17. 0. Results There was no expression of AKT-1 in normal mammary gland. There was a significant difference in the positive rates for expression of AKT-1 between the fibroadenoma and breast cancer (P < 0. 05 ) . The positive expression rate of AKT-1 in breast cancer group had significant difference based on the sizes of the primary tumor, lymph node metastasis and different stages of TMN ( P < 0. 05 ) . The positive expression of AKT-1 had no difference between different ages, hormone receptors and histological types ( P > 0. 05) . Conclusion AKT-1 plays an important role in promoting the process and invasion and metastasis of breast cancer,it could be used as one of indicators in evaluating prognosis of breast carcinoma.
