Abstract

Objective To investigate the thyroid hormone levels in healthy people at different age groups to provide guidance and assistance for preventing the thyroid diseases. Methods The serum levels of thyrotropin (TSH), free thyroxine (FT4) and free triiodothyronine (FT3) in health examination people were detected by the microparticle chemiluminescence method. Results Along with the growth of the age, the average concentration of TSH was rising, and the FT3 levels were decreased. The abnormality rate of thyroid hormone was different among those groups, which there was a positive correlation between the proportions of abnormal thyroid hormone hypothyroidism in aged people (>50) was significantly higher than in young people (≤50) levels in man groups as age increased. The morbidity rate of hypothyroidism and mild(P<0.05). The morbidity rate of hypothyroidism, mild hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism in women groups was significantly higher than in men groups (P<0.01). Conclusion: Although the female population with 61~70 ages deviated, the abnormality proportion of thyroid hormone is rising along with the growth of the age. The elderly people (>50 years), especially women, are at higher risk of suffering from thyroid disease, which are mostly hypothyroidism and subclinical hypothyroidism.
